Is this a known bug? Is there a fix? Or do I have to buy a new trackball from another manufacturer? MBP C2D 17' Mac OS X (10.4.9). Kensington MouseWorks 5.7 MouseWorks for Kensington-branded mice and trackballs makes work easier by placing more of your computer's time-saving capabilities at your immediate command. Kensington MouseWorks X is a driver for Kensington input devices running under Mac OS X. I searched this forum for a similar problem, but couldn't find a posting about this. Kensington tech support offered no help at all.
I had to uninstall the MouseWorks software to get the trackpad to work again. But the Mac's trackpad was completely unresponsive - with or without the trackball connected. The Kensington trackball worked properly. I downloaded and installed the latest Kensington MouseWorks driver (version 3.0), and it killed my trackpad. I use a Kensington trackball for pointing. I have a new MBP C2D and I'm setting it up to work with my accessories.
